Hi Gang... A new month is upon us and I was thinking about redoing some old renders from years past... but I want to render them with the NEW look of Iray.

Anyone else game?  Let's see those before and after artworks...

or... you can POST WHATEVER YOU WANT!  lol

Just keep it child friendly.

Llola, in the March thread, you mentioned nobody reading books.  I am!  I started last August.  Reading my Star Trek books.  I'm only on TOS right now.  Started #60 today (the Pocket Books soft cover ones).  That's more than a book a week.  Pretty good, considering my eyes get blurry after a couple of chapters and I have to quit for a while.  I get at it twice a day.  I have so many, but my collection is not complete.  I ran out of room (and money for them) several years ago, so stopped buying them.  I also have a bunch of hard cover ones.  And the same goes for TNG series, DS9 series, and Voyager series (less and less as each series was newer).

I have other books, as well, but I can only read so much.  I probably have enough for a decade at this rate!  Maybe not.

So cool Dana... I have a library of Sci Fi books that I got when I signed up for a BOOK OF THE MONTH club back in 1980ish... I still have not read the bulk of them.  I spend soooo much time on the internet now the last thing I want to do is read a book.  Although... I DO attend a public reading of Terry Pratchett's DiscWorld in my SecondLife every Wednesday.  The girl (Finn) reads the book on a tablet though.  We are on book #24.  There are about 40 in the series... We have been reading them for about 5-6years.  It's rather nice to be able to listen to the stories.  I read along in a PDF file on my computer.  That's about all the reading I do from books.  Read on!!!  :)

There's no day without reading in a book for me. It almost broke my heart when I had to give away hundreds of them last year due to moving to a new place. Now I go to our local library where they also sell books for 0,50 EUR. When I am through with a book, I give it to a friend and her husband, after reading they put it in a sort of public book shelf in their village.  My grandson (soon 4 years old) has his own book shelf, well filled. He enjoys listening to real people reading aloud, turning the page, he remembers the text and is able to cite it  like "and then the little rabbit said..." The photo below is one of my favourites of him, he was 2 and a half years old at that time.

The photo did not come through... another try

Yeah, I did resist throwing away the books for so long - but in the end I had to relent as we tried everything we could to find a new home for them and had no luck so needed to move on.

Glad to hear that atlast some of the new generation are still finding joy in books tho :)

As for the topic of the thread, as I am such a noob I don't have any renders pre-iray. I might have something else that I can use tho, we'll see.

Great image to start us off with, those two look ready for a very fancy event :)

awe... too cute Erika...

Sofa... you are welcome to post anything you want too... :)  I'm just gonna try and concentrate on some renewing of artwork... Mostly to also see how much faster my new computer can render the same file from years ago.  If you notice the times in the filenames.. original render took 16minutes and my new computer with Iray only took 2minutes to render... WOW... I'm anxious to see more results.  :)
