These are two poser2012pro renders of mine from back in 2011.

Just playing around in poser13 and La Femme...

None of the lights on the big ball are the headlamp. Not sure there is one, because when I open Poser and then delete all of the existing lights on that big ball, nothing in the scene window is lit.

Is it not possible to turn shadows off using IRay in DAZ Studio? I ask because using 3Delight in DAZ Studio, I actually have to turn the shadows on. In Poser, from what I have seen in the tutorials, if you want a light not casting shadows, you must turn shadows off for that light. The Bryce lights work the same way. I'm not sure how Blender's lights work, but as it uses at least one of the same render engines that Poser uses, it's lights may work similarly to those of Poser.

A little known thing about Wings3D is that it too has lights, though they are just experimental at this time. There's not any render engine in Wings3D that I have found. And the lights don't export well, so far as I know. Wings3D does have several export format options, but I use only the most common one; Wavefront.obj AKA OBJ. I'm attaching a cropped screenshot of the export options.
You can see that there are more than the app we work with can import or export, but a small few are compatible with Poser, DAZ Studio, and Bryce. If I'm not mistaken, .3ds can be imported by all three.

@Agent I am just about to head away for two weeks but if you are still having trouble getting the libraries into poser when I get back I am happy to try and help
Thanks. If I don't find the info anywhere else by then, I will ask for your help.
Oddly I used to know how to do that, way back when I had the old Poser 10 on my laptop. That was the 32 bit version, and not Pro. The Laptop was a Toshiba 64 bit, with 500GB hard drive, a 4 GBs of RAM. It had Windows 7 on it.

What I like about DAZ Studio and Poser is the fact that both can use the same Poser formats Runtime Libraries. DAZ Studio can't read certain Poser formats, but it can read most of them. So the Poser Figures in .cr2 format should all work in DAZ Studio. One of our members here did a render in DAZ Studio of La Femme, a Poser figure I thought would only work in Poser! Likewise, it is possible to use certain Genesis generations in Poser now. Genesis, Genesis 2 Male(s)/Female(s), and Genesis 3 Male(s)/Female(s), plus most of their clothing, hair, accessories, and props have Poser Companion files that allow them to be used in late versions of Poser. I don't know about Genesis 8/8.1 Male(s)/Female(s), but it may be possible also. As for Genesis 9, I don't think it will be available for Poser any time soon. DAZ seems to be making it exclusive for DAZ Studio and possibly Carrara for now.

Hi Dream.. yes.. that is sort of it... I was able to get similar using 1 spotlight... but the minute I add any fill or backlighting.. the nose is lit up like a lamp... and the nose holes go away... I may need to practice more.  FYI... I also found out DOF has to be turned on in Poser... grrrr... Finally figured that out.

Hi Agent... as far as I've tried I can get up to G2 to load in Poser... you need the DSON Importer for Poser to make them work.  From what I understand it comes with Genesis Starter Essentials and Genesis 2 Starter Essentials but I think it needs manual install.  I just got mine to work in Poser last night.  I loaded a Genesis model and it worked like a charm.

FYI... I am the one that rendered LaFemme in Daz with Iray... Every Poser product I've found works in Daz with the exception of lighting.  Most of the textures work ok as is... but a few I've had to fiddle with.

Agent... 3Delight has some wonderful lighting packages... The one I think looks the most realistic is... https://www.daz3d.com/advanced-light-presets-for-aoa-s-lights ..

https://www.daz3d.com/advanced-ambient-light  is what I'm talking about.  It gives even light all around the scene... Not just a spotlight.  As far as I know Poser does not have this... unless I've missed it somewhere... I'm still playing.
