Wonderful scene Arnold...though with what I have read in the books I have read..and I read a lot of these types of books...when the entrance to the underworld is there...there always seems to be red and sometimes even bubbles...but for all that you have done them entering in fog and the render is so well done.

A really great looking image Arnold. I love it.


I don't know how your image was accepted at such an excessive pixel size. It is way over the allowed pixel size limit. If you can reduce the pixel size to maximum limits I'm sure it will still be large enough to see all that gorgeous detail.


If I had my way, the maximum size limit would be as high as 4000 PX either vertically or horizontally or both, but our host puts limits on how large an image can be here.


BTW, your image qualifies as fitting the Effects Challenge! Well done!

Here is my next one. This one has a lighting effect in it.



Alien Probe Light


Driving my vintage model car, trying to make it home, I soon realized it was about to run out of fuel. I thought for a moment and realized there was an old gas station that stayed open all night that my grandfather used to frequent to get gas for this very car. So I took the next turn and drove down the road to where it was. It was abandoned though, and I was soon to be stranded, as she was using up the last drops of fuel as I pulled into the old station.

The pumps were gone and the place looked as though it had not been open in decades. It was about 11:45 PM according to my watch. There was no one about, and after waiting for several minutes I knew the road had virtually no traffic at all. I think that maybe I was the only driver this road had seen in a long time.


I decided to get out of the car and walk to the side of the road. Hoping against hope that someone would come along that I could flag down. As I stood at the edge of the road, 30 minutes passed. I knew then that there would be no one coming for the rest of the night at least. I turned toward the abandoned gas station to walk back to my car.


I took one step and something odd appeared in the starry sky. I had never seen a green star, and I instinctively knew no such star exists. But this one was there in the sky, and it had my full attention. After a minute or two, I noticed that it was moving, not with the other stars, nor in a direction that was even close to what one would expect. It was coming down from the sky and moving toward me at the same time. The closer it got, the more detail it showed me. It was a green light encased in some type of mesh.

The mesh was rotating in different directions at the same time, as it descended to a point just above my car. It was now between my car and me, casting a dancing green light onto everything, in oddly shaped patches that changed their shapes while moving about in weird ways. It had me mesmerized to the point of being unable to think about moving; like my feet had sprouted roots into the ground. Yes I was scared; badly scared. I got the feeling that the device was looking at me, though I could see no eyes or cameras. It continued to hover there, the moving patches of green light dancing on everything, including my car, and myself.


Suddenly it stopped rotating, and the patches of light no longer moved or shifted their shapes. I thought "It has made a decision, and that might be all for me!" I felt that I was about to die. But instead my car roared to life, starting up on it own. It started so suddenly that I nearly jumped out of my skin! The headlights came on, shining brightly on the nearby pasture. I was so frightened, as I wondered what my car was going to do next. Would it try to run me over? Would it explode? Or would it take off and leave me to the mercy of the green light? But the car just stayed where I had parked it, running on what? I did not know what it was running on, and that scared me even more.


The green light then started moving toward me. My feet still felt rooted strongly to the ground, so I still could not move. Much less could I even try to run. The device got close and hovered about six feet away. It then started doing that weird rotating again, with the patches of light moving and changing shape again. My heart fell through the ground I was standing on, yet it still pounded fearfully in my chest. I thought my head was going to explode.


The device then began to ascend back into the sky. I could only watch it as it continued to rise until I could no longer see it. I had to wonder if I was in a dream. Soon though, I would learn that this was no dream, and in fact was absolutely real.

I then felt as though a heavy weight had been lifted off of me, and I discovered my feet could now move. My car was still running, and sounding better than I had ever heard it sound. I had to decide what to do: Go and get the hell out of here, or go and get into my car? Somehow I knew that I should get in the car. So that's what I did. I found that now the car's fuel tank was full. I drove it all the way home. When I checked after getting home, the tank was still full, after driving 70 more miles to get home!


I've not had to fill up her tank even once since then, and I have been driving that car long distances on a regular schedule. It has been a year and a half since that night, and that tank is always full! It never runs out, no matter how much I drive the car!

This one is not for effects, but good for fun.   Don't Cross the Water!Sometimes it is not necessary to reach the very top of the peak.

did i make it? honestly it is an environment in DAZ3D so i didn't make the rock formation but 'just' used it in my creation.

Thanks Arnold... I will have to look for it.  Not seen it before :)  Well done!
