"Favorite Colors"

Welcome to the September 2025 Show Off Thread! Our theme for this month is simply to Choose from the Above List of Themes. If you have an Idea that fits more than one of the available themes, please feel free to choose from all that it fits! Do your images and post them here! I want to see what you can come up with!

Now even though we have a list of themes to choose from, we accept appropriate images from whatever theme you like, so long as they follow the size and decency rules. With the variety of themes to choose from, I might see how they fit into one or another of them, or even more that one of them. But even if there is no fit to any of the listed themes, your images will be welcome.

Got a texture you made for something? Let us see it on that something!
Got a Model you want to show off? Well this IS a Show Off Thread, so show it off!
Doing images in other application aside from DAZ Studio, Poser, Blender, Carrara, or Bryce? Post them, no matter which app you used to do it!
Doing 2d images like paintings, or drawings; whether digital or actual? Let's see what you've done!
Doing handcrafted works of art, artisan works, sculptures, weavings, knittings, crochetings, wood works, metal works, stone works, pottery, etc.? Shoot photos, and upload them here, for all of us to see!

So long as the rules are followed, these threads are for showing off whatever kind of artistic works you like to do! If it is a type of art, why keep it hidden? Art is meant to be seen, and if it isn't seen, I'm sure it's very spirit is feeling lonely, because art loves being seen! At least that's the way I look at the arts! Art Museums don't exist for nothing, you know! So bring whatever you've got, that you wish to show off, and is appropriate for these threads, for all of us to see and enjoy, and to spark comments about! You can see our rules below, and they are really not so bad, as rules sometimes go!

Please remember to keep within the file and pixel sizes for your images. You can find them easily, but to let you know without having to search, they are:
File Size - No more than 1 megabyte.
Pixel Size - No more than 3000px vertically or horizontally.

Keep your images kid friendly (meaning no extreme adult content).

Let's have some fun with this month, and lets try to get more images uploaded to this thread! I did not do an August thread because almost no one was uploading, in July, so I let the July thread run for two months in the hopes of getting more images. We all know how that worked out.

To start it off, here is my first for this Thread:

Moonrise Dancer
As the Full Moon rises over an unknown body of water and mountainous isles, a young beauty takes the opportunity to show the Rising Moon what she can do; dancing skillfully on a narrow spire that is standing in the waters. There is music playing a fair distance away, on another isle, wafting through the dusk air, which she can hear and keep time to. Most assuredly, the Moon is enjoying her performance.

A lovely image to start us off Agent :) Looks like a very serene and calm lake and so would no doubt be a very nice place to dance. And purple is always a good colour to use! :)

SofaCitizen

Here is my submission for the thread. First render in 3 and a half months so have a little rust to shake off.

Agent0013

Thanks, SofaCitizen for the comment about my image, and for posting that awesome one of your own!

I suppose you figured out that my favorite color is purple. If you didn't, now you know! lol

I can't find any rust in your image, but I supposed it could be hiding in the dark shadows. That little flower attracts attention like a flame attracts a moth. Seem the little flower is extremely resilient against the destructive machine! I like how the light has found the flower, and seems to be nurturing it! At least that's my take on this one!

I love that image!

Come on everybody! This thread is starving for images! Let's see more of you posting here. Remember it does not have to be the run of the mill 3D render type of image. I would be happy to see the other kinds of art you guys do, and even photos you have taken with your smartphones, or even your old personal cameras! If you are doing modeling in a 3D modeler, like Blender, Hexagon, Wings 3D, etc., give us a screenshot of it!

Cheers!

Little Red Haired Girl

A True Story:
Back in the late 1970s I was attending a Christian Private School. Our education system was a novel approach to learning, in which we were our own teachers, and because of it, we could advance our learning as fast as we wanted. I advanced so fast that by the time I was going to graduate, I would have already gotten an education that rivaled that of a 2 year college student! The name of the learning program was PACE. All Highschool students were in the same Upper Learning Center, and no matter which grade a student was in, they were called an Upper Student.

In the Upper Learning Center were boys and girls, from the 8th grade all the way to the 12th grade. I started in the 11th grade, and so did my oldest sister. We had a basketball team which I was a part of, and we took the championship for that year among private schools. As a basketball team member, there were several girls in the Upper Learning Center who had a crush on me, most of whom I did not know about, until years later, when my sister told me about them. I did know about two.

One was in the 10th grade, and sat next to me in the Upper Learning Center. her name was Vicky, and she often would ask me for help with her learning in English, Science, Math, and Social Studies. I always gave her the help she asked for, but she also would use that time to flirt with me. She had her 16th birthday in the early spring of that year.

Then there was the Little Red Haired Girl, also 15, but she was in the 9th grade, her 16th birthday was in late July. She never approached me, but when I passed by her she always said "Hi, Cleve!" Whenever I looked her way while we were having our morning meetings, she would swing her hips back and forth, making the hem of her skirt or dress fly up a bit. She wanted me to see a bit more of her legs, and it worked.

The Little Red Haired Girl had all of my beauty weaknesses; Red Hair, Freckles, and Green Eyes. Staring into those eyes made me feel like I was floating in a fantasy realm, where nothing but her Green Eyes mattered. But because I had my 18th birthday that year, I was officially an adult, and I had to refrain from having any romantic encounters with her, even as much as she wanted me to.

Years later I learned her name was Cherrise, from my oldest sister. She too had moved on to dating other boys.

This image is in honor of Cherrise, because she was one of the two girls that did not hide their feelings about me, and they made me know I was a desirable man.

I used Haley 5 for Genesis as the base for this character. Haley 5 actually looks a lot like Cherrise, except her skin textures do not include freckles. That said, I happen to have PD Howler 12, which I was able to use to modify the existing skin textures, adding the freckles myself using the Large Splatter Brush; first at size 39 to do the small freckles, then at size 91 to do the larger freckles. I saved the new images with the same name as the originals and Frckls at the end of the name. In Daz Studio I used the new textures to give Haley the freckles I needed for this image. This portrait is the result, and I couldn't be happier about how it turned out!

I present to you, for your viewing enjoyment:
Cherrise, portrayed by Hally 5 for Genesis.

Ahh, yes, I remember those innocent days back at school - when girls would smile and flirt and we would be too dumb to realise what was happening till it was way too late!

I also do like freckles and so I am glad you were able to apply some to your model for a lovelly portrait and matching story :)

I'll try to come up with another image this weekend but hopefully some others will also be able to join us in this thread!

The freckles turned out a lot better than I was expecting. Now I plan to go with making a Layered Image Editor type of "Freckles" texture for more flexibility in adding freckles to multiple skin maps. The Mil 4 textures also work on Genesis, and may even work on Genesis 2 Males and Females. Mil 3 figures have different UV maps, like V3 does not quite work with A3 or STP3. M3 and H3 have different UV maps also. Because of this different freckle texture maps would need to be made for those figures. The freckles would be the only thing on the maps, basically a map that is black except for the freckles in grayscale, and a white colored map with the same freckles in the color of freckles. As each base figure has multiple UV maps, I would have to do this for each skin map, and then test them to make sure they are working correctly. When they are done, and working for me, I'll need a beta tester to check that they work for other users. There will be instructions on how to apply the freckle textures included so that the tester can know how to apply the LIE freckle textures. If I can save the freckle as preset LIE textures, applying them will be just a double click operation, in which you apply the LIE map after you have applied the skin textures of your choice to the figure.

I am not the first to do this by a long shot, but searches for this kind of package at the different stores, has not yielded many results; I mean they are quite scarce! So I decided to try making my own! It wound up looking a lot better that the few texture sets I have that include freckles. I think the ones that came with freckles are not high resolution maps, so I used Haley 5's 4096 x 4096 px maps to experiment with doing a good set of textures, and I could not be happier with the results. This set of freckles is just for the one texture that has no makeup. So I need to make my next set able to be used with any skin texture set, and even work with makeup, for users that want to use them with those textures.

Stezza

I put this video together this week along with my song lyrics of some of my modelling this year in Carrara ;-)

What a cool idea, Stezza! Your video made me want to render again after a long time of creating nothing.
