Making material files in poser
« on: January 02, 2012, 08:07:56 PM »
Ok hopefully this wont get lost this way...

Open poser go to material room and add your textures... Keeping this open all the time...

When you have done that...click on your material Tab...

REMEMBER both material tabs MUST be open...

If you haven't already made a folder...make one now by clicking the left hand +

Make sure the folder has been opened to save the material file...

When you click select material another box will open...tick all the materials you need to add...

Then that's it..you now have your material file...

You can put these into a runtime so that you can share your textures with people...
or edit the mtl file to make a pz2

Don't get carried away -- I'm sure I'll have more questions -- just not about how to save. Maybe. . .

Now see -- I already have another question. I can't work on the amor set any more until I get some more textures which I want. So, I want to make some textures for Pippin. I opened the pants and T Shirt outfit template. Have never seen one like it. Looks like she has piled stuff on top of each other. I tried to move them about, but they all move together. If I cut them up, that will mess up the sleeves I think. How do you handle this?

Oh yeah, and what are the little straight pieces for?

If you go select by material..you will see a list pop up with all the material sections...this will tell you what the bits are....

CRAP! Sanbie, I don't have UV Mapper Pro -- or any other mapper program yet. Never mind, I'll just work on something else. This not having what I need when I need it is driving to me drink!

I know, darlin', but my OS is newer than that one, and it won't work on mine. I've already tried it. They have one for $60 that will work, but I just don't have the extra cash right now. I'm gonna get it soon.

Nope, Stitch Witch is NOT for a Mac. I've even talked to them about making a version for a Mac -- they weren't interested. That's why I bought MAT Writer -- it's for a Mac. But I don't like it very much. Not very user friendly.

No, that's just not necessary, Sweetie. I love you for the offer, but there are tons of stuff I can make without bothering you. You have a REALLY neat outfit for Mavka which I downloaded. You don't put your template items in a pile -- I'll just make Mavka a new outfit.

Hedd, that's so sweet of you, but i don't have Blender. I think I had it at one time, but I must have deleted it, because I didn't have any directions with it, and it was very complicated (for me).

No, no registry, Hedd. Free is about all I can afford right now. LOL If you'll give me a couple of days to get it downloaded and installed, then make me some visuals of how to get started, I'd love to try it.  Thanks, Sweetie.

You do realize I'll be pestering you like I do Sanbie after that, don't you?

yep, can remap quite easily but these already have a map so its just how to seperate them out
pretty much the same way you do in uv mapper, select by mat then save the map
so all you need to know is the basics of the uv mapper (it does lots more but there is buttons in there even I dunno wot they do  )
I really find it a damn sight easier then uv mapper(free one lol maybe the paid one is better :zipped18: )
LMAO...I just tried this and I couldn't even find the obj to open let alone save a template from it!!

OK, Hedd -- I have it, and it is installed. The ball is in your court. It still looks just as complex as it did before. HELP!   Don't say I didn't warn you.
