So true Dana and Sanbie... My main problem is I KNOW I've spent hundreds of dollars on the stuff and I can't seem to throw away hundreds of dollars... lol.  I suppose some day I will have to... Hubby and I aren't getting any younger... (sighs)

You don't need to tell me about that!  At one time, I had over 600 VHS and SuperVHS tapes, and over 400 Beta and Super Beta tapes.  I recently found a device that lets me record from them onto the computer.  So far, no luck with the VHS tapes, but the Beta tapes have worked.  Beta always had a better image, but tape is tape, so I don't know if the VHS machine is just dead, or simply needs a head cleaning (which won't happen because I don't have a VHS head cleaner tape).  I haven't watched these tapes since we bought this house...in 2001!  Some were given away to a friend of Diane's years ago, but not most.  I had an extensive collection of things recorded off TV and HBO or Showtime or Max.  Concerts, movies, comedy stand up routines.  I've recorded a few Full Contact KickBoxing bouts from ESPN.  And a couple of concerts.  But, mostly, I don't even know if most are even worth it.  But the money!  Do you know what tapes used to cost?  Even if I average it out to $5 per tape, that's a whole lot of money!  And that's only the blanks I bought.  I also have a lot of commercial tapes I bought (pre-recorded movies and such).  It hurts!  Now, they're just taking up room in my basement in boxes.

I hear ya... At least there's a store that buys old VHS tapes from us... and we've sold quite a few at Jamies Flea Market in the past... but really just a kick in the bucket... $2.00 per tape is about all we can get for them. :(  Hubby recorded a bunch of our favs to DVD a few years back but we still have a tall book shelf full.
