Turned to Stone

The legend of the Gorgon Medusa is that any person who was unfortunate enough to see her face to face would immediately be turned to stone. According to that legend, she was a creature whose upper body was that of a human woman, while the lower part was that of a poisonous snake. The head of this Gorgon had a tangle of several snakes that were her version of hair. To kill her, the hero had to use the polished inner surface of his shield to see how to hack her head off with his sword. He could see her without being turned to stone by looking at her reflection. This is how Medusa was finally defeated.

What if there were other Gorgons hiding it the remote regions of the land? What if some of them were only part Gorgon, part Human, part Dragon, and part Winged Horse; a kind of Gorgon Centaur? And what if that one could fly? Would it not become neccessary to hunt such a monster down and attempt to vanquish it? What if the hunter found it, but did not know how to fight it and vanquish it without looking at it? All it takes is one look, and that person would be Turned to Stone!

I did some serious Kit Bashing to make this creature. I used the upper body of Victoria 4, and the body minus the head and upper neck of the Millennium Horse. To V4's back I added a pair of dragon wings, and to the Mil Horse's back I added a pair of large feathered wings. To V4's Head I added the Gorgon's Snake Hair. I used special shaders to give V4 a scaley kind of skin. She is wearing a top from a clothing pack. I decided to make the resulting creature dark black with minimum specularity. The Hunter is Genesis wearing the Genesis Supersuit morphed to look like a suit of armor. He has a long bladed sword as his weapon. He, his Suit of armor, and his sword are all turned to stone by applying a stone shader to all surfaces of the character. The environment seemed to be the best I could think of in my content to use for this scene. It is called Alchemy Chasm. I did not like the way the lights that are included with that product, so I created and edited my own in DAZ Studio to get the effect I wanted. You can see a kind of  red-orange glow coming up from below where the battle is being fought. I did that light to make it appear that below was a pit of molten lava.

Sienna; Aiko3 Blacker Magic and custom Dragonhawk figure (2019)
I have to say I like this first one the best!  It appears you used one of the early milleneum environments (and got it to behave enough that it looks great).  The character looks like she belongs there, and the beast is just the right size.

Apparently, I have a few Fae renders. Nothing new right now all older ones as still getting the computers set back up.
How about something a little Shadowrun?
I admire your ability to create a tangible mood in the scene, DreamWeaver.  I'm currently working on making a distinguishable style, so its inspiring to see the next level.

Thanks. I've been fortunate with the Daz Environments. A little fog goes a long ways. The 'beast' is the Dragonhawk, a Ranger familiar, from World of Warcraft. This was the first Cr2 figure I created. Perhaps I should package it up as a Freebie on MeshWorks3d.

Thank you, I like to try and tell stories with my renders if I can

Alright. I just posted it on the Downloads page. The figure does not have any morphs, but is fully articulated including individual feathers, jaw and tongue. Anyone interested in creating morphs, such as bending of the wing segments and tail, is encouraged to do so. Please share the modified cr2 here.

Let me know how it works, since you all will be the first to try it.

I finally found the right wings for my previous post.
a little wings, a pose change and the magic begins to show...
It's notable that the background is running through the "Environment" under the Render  tab.

Oh that's lovely Jammixx... Love how you got the background to go through the render tab.  :)

You all have such great Fae artworks.  I don't usually create fae artworks... just boring ole hoomans... lol.  I'm still planning on creating a fae once I get some free time.
