Good going Kathryn!  You are really rockin' the renders.   In the anime series that the costumes replicate Pieres has blond or white hair, but you can hide the hair and use any one you want.

Agent:  Your story is just great.  Are you familiar with the Gundam Wing Anime series?  Your image and the story make an excellent parody!I once did game testing for Microsoft's Mech Warrior.  My final comment at the end of the testing was, "You really need to watch Gundam Wing."

Agent0013

I watched all of those Anime series that involved mechs, even Gurham Lagahn, (not sure if I spelled that right). Gundam Wing was a big favorite of mine, but my all time favorite was The Robotech Macross series! That one had the best storyline, and the most awesome mechs.

I've been looking for the Veritech Fighter models for DAZ Studio and Poser, that actually can shift shapes. So far I only have one, SDF 1. Its shapeshifting ability is very basic. I had three different plastic model kits of the Veritech mech models, all of which had full shapeshifting ability. I assembled and painted all of them. They were the Veritech Fighter fashioned after the F14 Tomcat used by the US Navy, The Veritech Fighter fashioned after the F15, used by the US Air Force, and the Cyclone Motorcycle that shapeshifted into a powered suit of armor for its rider, which also came with the kit. I had every one of them working perfectly.

The F14 Tomcat emulator one was my favorite, having three main shape modes; The F14 Jet Fighter mode with the dual cockpits, (one behind the other), the Guardian mode, half jet, half mech walker, and the full Robotic Mode. The F15 could do similar shifting, but the Guardian Mode was not as good. While the Cyclone was awesome, it was not as great as the other two, and its scale was not the same as the other two, being way out of proportion to the jets. Still all of them were extremely fun to build. I loved the challenge of putting together models that would work like they did in the series. Never saw any kits made for the Transformers, but I did have practically every Transformer toy made from the original series and the second series. In those series my favorite was Jetfire, another that was fashioned after the F14 Tomcat. It had the three different modes like the Robotech version did.

You probably guessed by now that my favorite real military jet is the F14 Tomcat. I actually was allowed to see one up close, aboard the USS Enterprise. Being the child of a career Navy man had its perks. Pop served 21 years and 7 months in the US Navy. He was a member of the original crew of the USS Independence, the last of the conventional powered supercarriers. He served more than five years aboard that aircraft carrier. The Enterprise was the first of the nuclear powered Supercarriers. Pop and I were allowed to go aboard it as visitors after its first refit. That's when it got some F14s stationed aboard. The variable wing configurations allowed them to sweep back into a delta configuration that allowed the jet to go supersonic, reaching and surpassing mach 2.6. The planes were quite agile, in the lower speeds with the wings swept forward, which made them a formidable opponent for any enemy fighter. The US Navy pilots have always been the best pilots.

I mowed my lawn today, too!  Saw this guy on the fence.  Never saw one before...Banded Garden Spider (may be an orb weaver, but I'm not sure).

Agent0013

They are Orb Web Spiders, Dana. You lawn work likely made her too scared to build her web for the day. These spiders normally take most of their web down after dark, and eat them to save the material for the next day. First time I saw that happen, I did not know what was happening. I told a friend about it and he showed me an article in an encyclopedia that explained the behavior. There's 2 other types of webs made by web weaving spiders, one is the common cobweb that looks messily built, and can make a place look rundown. The other is the Funnel Web, usually made by recluses, and widow spiders. Those are very venomous spiders. The hunting spiders don't build webs normally, but they do have web spinnerettes. They use their spider silk for negotiating difficult terrain. They include the Tarantula, Wolf Spiders and Jumping Spiders. They also mostly see better than other species. Rather than lie in wait for prey, they actively hunt their prey.

I knew some of that info.  I just never saw one of these before, and I've been in this house since 2001.  Plenty of spiders around.  I've seen jumping spiders.  I normally don't kill them, they are helpful to get rid of pest insects.  Sometimes.  My sister freaks out when she visits.  She's allergic, blows up when bitten by one.  She carries an epi-pen with her.  But, she's never been bitten by any of the spiders that roam the house!
