just search the word RESET.... and see if it comes up.. or DEFAULT...

Perhaps do a couple of screenshots to help her.  I'm not sure what you mean, either.  I've not done much in DS for quite a while...just a couple of renders for birthday card covers.  I don't even know my way around the Iray stuff yet.

Just back... sis taking a shower... i made this SHADER RESET for you all to use... just unzip it to your Daz files... I tested it but I'd like to make sure it's working for you all.. please someone test for me..

1... click your item
2... click ! Reset Surface (it is in your SHADER PRESETS folder)

Your item should now be all white and have no textures.... etc on it.

3... texture item

I just tried this and all it did was after clicking on RESET it asked me if I wished to save before closing.

Oh and my Daz3D is on C:/ not program files

I sent you a message Sanbie... Sorry my sister is here and she's taking up all my time.  She will be away at a family wedding this weekend and hopefully I can help you better then.

Sanbie, could you provide a screenshot or more of your DAZ Studio interface? I find the best way to help someone is to know first how they set their application interface up.
To at least try I think you need to open the Surfaces tab and go to the Editor page. If you have the dress selected already, you should see the name of it in the list. Click on that name, or better yet, the triangle next to the name. That will open all the material zones in the list for the dress. I am assuming the dress is optimized for Iray. Make sure all of the material zones for the dress are selected. Go back to the previous page, and open the Iray Shaders. Look for the word Utilities and click on it. If the Dress is optimized for Iray, you should see a shader called Reset Surfaces. Click on that and your dress should be devoid of all textures. As I don't have a computer that will allow me to use Iray, I cannot really vouch for the existence of the Reset Surfaces in the Iray shaders, But I would think that the process would be the same as it is for 3Delight.
