May Show Off Thread 2023 - Mom

Thaks for the well wishes, but there is still no word about the approval. Was working on cleaning up items we are taking with us. A big chest of drawers, which has a lot of areas to wash down. Still have my roll top desk to finish cleaning, and it is a lot more complex. That piece of furniture is one of great value, that had been painted, hiding the grain of the wood. If I can open up a shop to work in, I plan to disassemble it, strip all of the paint off of each part, and then finish it out natural. After that I will reassemble it. I should be able to increase its value by a factor of 10 or more. As it sits now with that ugly paint on it, its value is around $500. I know once I get do with it, I'll be able to get at least $5,000 for it. That would be a good haul for just a few days of work.
Yes I have great skill in woodworking, just as my father, my grandfather,  My great grandfather, and also a couple of great great uncles, who built Catherine the Great's carriage in the 1870s. Catherine the Great was the Czarina of Russia.
Anyway, the reason I was not visiting was to get some more work do to get moved quickly when we do get approved. We want to enter our new place with clean furniture and so on.

Seeing a lot of TC posts in this thread. Not that I'm complaining, as I really like seeing them, and reading the comments concerning the process of getting things right. I learn from it all, and I thank all involved.


Just need to ask 1 question, and all who wish to give an answer are welcome to do so.


Should I modify the monthly Show Off Threads to include texture challenges?


As Sanbie has pointed out, the Texture Challenge thread does not see to be getting much viewing. At least in the Show Off Threads, there will be plenty of exposure for the Texture Challenges.


So cast your vote, and let me know what you think should happen. I think you may have already guessed my vote.

Tried two times to upload an image I did for this thread, but it gets rejected each time. I scanned the image with all of my malware protection software, and according to each of them there is no malware present of any kind. I will therefore try to upload it to DeviantArt. Not sure what will happen, but will let you know as soon as I can.

As for the texture challenge images going in here...it was the only way I could get answers as it took w a y too long to get any feed back in the texture challenge thread...

Yeah I would be alright with it...I would also be alright with you making a Thread by Llolas thread as these 2 seem to be the ones getting all of the attention.

Um, not sure what you're saying here. Llola's thread is the Render a Month thread. Do you mean make the monthly Show Off thread into just one thread, like Llola's thread is? That would change the way things have been done since I first joined PFDLives. It can be done, but I would need to get everybody to give their opinion about it, and I think I would be mainly concerned what DA says. There may be limits on what one thread can hold, speaking memory wise. I know on my PC folders can hold up to a certain amount, and anymore than that causes data corruption. Don't know if that is true for the Show Off threads or other threads here at PFDLives.

Well changed my mind, will move them to the texture challenge area but can move that entire area directly under the show off section. Easier seen by all
