I won this character for G8F called Fiore over at Dreamslayer Artworks for an image in their October contest.
Congratzi Kathryn... A good prize for sure.  She's cute!  Great smile and I love the pink.  You still using Iray to render?

ENJOY!

Had to do some unconventional manipulating to get this image looking right.  It is a Fan Art piece, as I am a big fan of Star Trek.

"Vulcan Ship Disrupts Borg Tractor Beam"

Somehow, a Vulcan ship's crew has found a way to disrupt the tractor beams of Borg ships. The Borg are unable to get a lock on the D'Kyr class ship. And to make things worse for the Borg, their transporters are beaming their drones into the vacuum of space, as that too is affected by the Vulcans.

I did not have to model the cube, but it did need to be UV mapped. The special textures are made using JSPlacement, PD Howler    12, and MS PowerPoint 2007.
Tractor Beam 1 _ Artist: Agent 0013
I made this one using a cylinder, which did not need to be modeled, but did need to be UV Mapped. I made the textures for this   one using MS PowerPoint 2007, and PD Howler 12.
Disruption Effect is a DAZ Primitive Plane with a texture I made in AmberLight 2, used in the diffuse, and opacity channels of the DAZ Studio Surfaces tab.
Lights and Camera created and edited in DAZ Studio. Artist: Agent 0013
Backdrop is an astronomical photo.
I had to render part of the image without the foreground objects in the scene. I then used PD Howler to add the lens flared light at the emitter point of the tractor beam, and at the disruption point I added a light bloom. Back in DAZ Studio I hid all objects used in the first render, then added the foreground objects back into the scene. I then loaded the enhanced backdrop render, ensuring everything was aligned the way I wanted it. When everything was where I wanted it, I rendered the final image in 3Delight.

Hey Saph... lookin' good... I see you have more inspiration that I do this month... Lots going on these days... but the house should get back to 'normal' soon... The kittens go back to the APL tomorrow :(.... waaaaaaaahhhh... I'm gonna miss'em but it is time for them to find their FURever home.

I am not sure if it is inspiration or if it is just my laptop not being able to render much for either Iray or 3Delight!
It has for sure made me scramble to find a way to show off new stuff I have been getting lately!

Interesting image, Agent!

I have been a fan of Star Trek since day one!  I watched the first episode broadcast!  And I mean, when it was first broadcast!  Next day in school, I sketched Mr. Spock.

Did not get to watch Star Trek when it was first aired, but in the early 1970s, I would without fail be in front of the TV when the rerun was on, at 4:00 in the afternoon, every week day. When The Next Generation premiered, I was there to watch it, and was far from disappointed, as it showed me the new series would be as good or better than the original series. Now we have several awesome Star Trek movies and series to enjoy! It looks like Star Trek will continue indefinitely!

Unfortunately, all the new series are on a pay streaming service that I can't afford.   :(

Eventually, the new ones will be available to watch for free, but for now, it is what it is.
