I met a new virtual friend who is into Manga/Chibi art.  She is learning to draw them and is coming along quite nicely.  I made her a Chibi artwork so she could maybe use it for reference in her drawing.  She loved it!  I am now interested in creating some Manga/Chibi artworks of my own... sooooo hang on to your seats... I'll post'em if they pass my critiquing ;)

Here's my friend's (and mine) first Chibi artworks....  ENJOY!

I got spoiled in June at DAZ 3D also! The freebies were great. In May there were some mega bundles they gave away for free, each having no less than 12 product packs. I got three of those, with the total value of all involved products at well over $1600.00. And that was on top of the Weekly Freebies, but July did come quite close to that.  The July freebies were not bad, but the first week of August brought me a pro bundle that was in my wish list for a long time, plus a starter bundle. Got more than $200.00 worth of products in the first Weekly Freebies of August. Some of the items in that one I already owned, but most were a good grab.
What will be in the next DAZ Weekly Freebies? We shall see soon I think! :coffee25:

Hope you got the slip dress... it was a nice Daz+ FREEBIE... I think we have a desk set this week.. blaaaaaaaaahhhhh But I grabbed it anyway.  I'll find something to do with it... LOL

I'm not spending much in August... got a gift certificate but it's still topped off.... I'm being really picky what I buy with it.  My credit card needs a break... and pretty soon Christmas sales will be here!  Nothing MAKING me say... "Oh I must buy that!"

I'm not a DAZ+ member, so I did not get the Slip Dress. I will check it out though, and see what figure(s) it is for. Perhaps I will put it in my wish list.

Now I have some news you guys may like hearing:
It Came From the Clouds
A cloud grew out of the horizon, and then approached the city; looking like a thunderhead, but with no lightning. As the cloud drew nearer to the city, something began to emerge from within it. It seems that the cloud had been used to conceal a very large ship until it got close to the city. At that time, the ship revealed itself, slowly emerging, and striking awe and fear into the citizens. Why was it here, and what was its purpose?

This image was done for the July Monthly Contest at The Fantasies Attic. Out of 21 images submitted, this one was the winning image.  I am in the process of choosing my prizes for the win. I did not expect to win the contest, but I thought I might place. One person said the reason it won was because it fit the theme of the contest "In the Clouds" perfectly.

About how this image was done:
Almost all of the models and textures were created by me, with the exception of the City Model, which was created by Hermineo Neives. I replaced the default textures with some I created in Bryce 7.1 Pro. the Volumetric Cloud is a Bryce Primitive with Bryce Volumetric Cloud Texture edited by me to look the way I wanted it to look.
The Ship coming out of the Cloud was made using a Bryce Symmetrical Lattice Primitive. I shaped it in the Bryce Deep Terrain Editor with a Heightmap I generated in JSPlacement; which is a really great utility app that generates 8K Grey Scale, Color, and Normal maps. The Grey Scale maps are great for Heightmaps to use in Bryce, but to use one, the resolution must be reduced to a size that Bryce will accept. I made the Textures for the ship in JSPlacement and Bryce.
The Water Plane is a Bryce Primitive with a Water texture made by me in the Bryce Deep Texture Editor.
The Sky was made in the Bryce Skylab, where it was edited in all of its aspects by me.
By arranging and spot test rendering in Bryce, I composed the image layout. Once it was looking right, I started the final render.
Rendered with Bryce Volumetric Clouds - Render Time 18 hours 37 minutes.

I have to say that even though Bryce is just a 32 bit application, and has not been upgraded from version 7.1 Pro in well over a decade, this is an impressive image. I am quite satisfied with the performance of Bryce. For it to get me a win in an art contest speaks volumes for Bryce's capabilities; though, to be fair, my skills using the application are quite good. I cannot take credit alone for how the image turned out. Still, I saw the images posted by the other participants in the contest, and had picked out the one I thought would win. That image took second place. We have some very skilled artists at the Fantasies Attic, and I am constantly in awe at what I get to see there.

I'm sure you guys know I won the Fantasies Attic April Contest also, and a Weekly Contest in May or June. The April contest helped my celebrate my Cat Cookie Baby's 12th Birthday, and winning it was also quite awesome.

Anyway, here is the winning image for the July Monthly Contest:

Do the Strut

There's a dance style that is rather popular with young people, called "Strut". A good song with a good beat is needed. What you do is begin a rhythmic walk in whatever direction you are facing, and you make extra moves to the beat, with your feet, hands, legs, arms, head, and body. The object of your Strut is to be unique. If you have a dance partner, the unique style of your partner should not be the same as yours. This makes the Strut look even more awesome.
Here, a guy and his girl are just beginning their Strut. What will each of them do?

I did this one specifically for this thread. It is the second in my Dance Series of images.
