I think I had the settings tweaked up a bit, so it took a touch over 6 hours

I got this computer just over a year ago now (maybe closer to 2?) for the express purpose of being a 'render monster', with lots of RAM and a render-dedicated nVidia gfx card, as well as a decent Intel CPU for those times I want to use 3Delight, so .. yeah

A lot going on there, in a very idyllic kind of way!  What landscape is that?

Beautiful image!  I was going to ask the same question.  At least some of it is 3D, the foreground at least.  Looks like some 3D elements around the deer, as well.  Is it all 3D, or is it mostly an HDRI image?

It's 100% 3D render, with a few minor touchups in Photoshop. The sky and clouds background/lighting is an HDRI;The set is "The Harpwood Trail - Mallard Pond".
