I posted my image for Llola's challenge, Daz version, a few minutes ago. I also rendered it large enough for the Big Picture Thread.

The Hivewire challenge was nearly two months long, and during that time I had a number of "false starts". One such resulted in the Prancing Unicorn image, (I'd used Whisper to create textures for an old shield in my runtime.)

Another false start used the Patchwork Dress. I used MD to create a fit for G8F. Then I ended up modifying a dance pose to work with two of GypsyAngel's G8 characters, Gaius and Leolani. I think I spent the better part of a week getting the pose right, and the drape of both the dress and the male bolero outfit to play nice together. That bolero was a nighmare. I used MD, dForce and finally Mesh Grabber to tame it. Looks good in the promos, but it really doesn't dForce well. And in the end, I abandoned the work.

But I had a few hours before the deadline yesterday, so I gave it a second chance, pretty much slapping it together with other bits to come up with a final entry.

I forgot to mention, I have a number of custom dimension presets. One of those is for a printable 8x10, @ 300 dpi, with some extra for good measure. That's the one I chose for this image, then set the dimension for the long edge to 1600. Somewhere along the line I hit Ctrl+Z too many times, and the dimensions went back to the original. I didn't notice it until after I'd rendered, so that made it perfect for showcasing in the Big Picture thread, while the others were all too small.

Awesome image, LAdair! Your stage lighting is excellently done, and the poses for your figures tells all that we need to know about what is happening in this dance routine! Love the play of shadows on the floor and the characters!
