Holy Moses! I just heard back from Fairdinks! That tub would cost me $95 to ship to the US! With the product cost added, that tub of Vegemite would cost me $110  :fgirl:

That's ...  [words won't come]

Told you postage is dear  :laugh111: :laugh111: :laugh111:

This town is weird. Clicky, you know? And the only places that might cater to what might be considered "non-redneck" fare, are the southsiders, where the town is groing the most. Unfortunately, the bus doesn't go there (Our bus system is retarded, don't get me started, it a whole other thread), and the taxi would cost as much as getting the Vegemite by Amazon. That's why I need a cheaper source.
I've lost 40 pounds in the last 4 months. My doctor is ecstatic, and part of my recent change of diet has included Vegemite, so i want to keep it up, but at these prices, I may have to find other substitutes.

They don't sell Marmite here either. Always wanted to try that. Is it much different from Vegemite?

All they carry here is just some junk that's more like a chocolate frosting spread, from Hershey's, I think, and that's not even in the same ball park. But when I ask a grocer here about Vegemite, they say, this is the closest thing. I got tired of correcting them. Now I just shake my head and look at them in pity.
C'est la vie! C'est la bon! Say, can I have a sandwich?

Marmite tastes very different...but similar..if you know what I mean...
Marmite is made with beef extracts and I think Vegemite is made from vegetable extracts...
