Shadow Color & Intensity in the New DAZ Studio Build!

Well the latest build of DAZ Studio is 4.6.3.50. It is a very stable build that has addressed several issues that were in recent previous builds. There are also new features included that allow new things to be done in DAZ Studio. As I find new features I will try them and see how they work. Once I am confident that I can achieve repeats of a result, I will create tutorials for them.


This one is about two new features that have been implemented in the latest build for editing shadows Follow this tutorial and you can achieve similar results to the one shown here.

Yes Trixie. The new build is DAZ Studio 4.6.3.50. To see what build you have, in DAZ Studio go to Help, and click on About DAZ Studio. The launch pane will appear with extra info showing. the version you are currently using will be at the top of the launch pane. It will show you the full version designation that you have.


Incidentally, if you use Smart Content like I do, there is a new Content Management Service (CMS) included with the latest build. I replaced mine with it as the old one was acting up. The old one is named Valentina CMS, and the new one is called PostgreSQL CMS. So far the new one is working perfectly, and it allowed me to cleanup my Smart Content in the process of replacing the old one. If you use Carrara also, do not uninstall the old Valentina CMS, as Carrara uses it and does not have a replacement for it yet.


If you are using the DAZ Install Manager (DIM), I recommend that you upgrade to the latest build of it also. Everything, DAZ Studio, PostgreSQL, and the PostgreSQL from Valentina CMS Conversion (If you need it) can be downloaded and installed through the DIM.

OK thanks Agent....mine ends with 16 in the win86 version.  Yep have the installer I'm sure the new one...thanks.

Oh mines way out...it's 4.6.2.118  Off to Daz I go!!
