So in short, Parkdale, when it comes to Poser, the only thing to consider from a basics standpoint, is which lights to add, how many and where to position them, the rest is done through the materials room (I hear groans as people read that...lol).  From past posts made here and elsewhere, many people are spooked by the material room.  I have seen a number of tuts regarding the material room and the images look like math equations on a chalk board, but in box form...lol...I can sympathize with them if they are new to it.

I have Poser 6, even had it installed and played with it a few times.  It is so different from Daz in the way it's set up and how you do things.

I have to find a way to post a tut in here that I got in an email, I tried to find it at the site but no luck.  It talks about using 4 lights, not 3 and is suppose to be so much better for your renders.  The tut was not program specific, so anyone can use it.

Oops forgot your question Kerya, I will see what I can do about tuts for those two programs, specifically Lux. It will take a bit cause I have to go out for a few hours and then update the sig tag showoff thread for Easter.

The no shadows thing drives me nuts. I think that is one reason I struggle with lights.

If you were using Daz I could help, however Poser makes me a complete dunce...lol  Parkdale has a stickied thread, it's near the top of the forum, about using lights, if you post there he could probably help you.

Ok Sanbie this thread is ready to be moved to a tutorial section.
