I know how you feel Agent.  After several years of saving, I finally got a new PC just a couple of weeks ago.  Before that, I couldn't do it either.

I kid you not!  At the height of the pandemic, we had somebody wandering around Utica dressed as a plague doctor.

During the Black Plague and the Red Death in Europe, there were certain supposed officials running around seeing to certain jobs. One in the Black Plague epidemic was driving a horse drawn wagon, ringing a bell, repeatedly saying "Throw out the dead!"

Both of those pandemics were caused by the killing of all cats, because they thought all cats were witches familiars. When there were no more cats, the rat population exploded big time, and the fleas that came with them would bite humans, transmitting the diseases mentioned above. The Plague doctors could do nothing to save the affected people, and some even died of the diseases themselves.

Just another way the Catholic Church made a big mistake twice that caused two pandemics of devastating proportions. No one really knows how many people died in either one of those pandemics, because no one really knew how many people were living in the cities, towns, boroughs, or rural areas of Europe. The death toll was probably a lot higher that the estimates given.

I knew about the fleas from the rats causing the plague, but I had no idea they killed the cats.
