I picked up computer arts again in summer, 2022, so what I'm showing may have happened a few years ago.  I have been studying lighting for awhile, and it looks like Daz3D is moving towards Environmental Lighting and HDRI lighting sources.  Now with Daz 4.21, there is movement to Volumetric Shapes that can carry effects like fog or rain.  Some vendors have magic effects, fire and explosions.   Hopefully the images I have to show will get you all to explore or share what kind of lighting styles you have seen (e.g. three light traditional, or adding a fourth as a rim light).
Here is the puzzle:The first image is a standard GF8_Kallisto character.  She has a blank expression in each shot.  I gave her modified eyes and some makeup.   Photo 1:  Iray shaders on Character, One spotlight, no background.  Looks good for computer art.   Photo 2:  Same setup, except I turned on the standard "environment" and added a tinted backdrop.  No spotlight.
Interesting isn't it.

To make it more interesting, here is the same model same hair, etc.  I turned her towards the camera a bit to show the eyes.  Then I changed some surface settings (increasing bump, adding a little metallic and darkening the diffuse) and now she is quite different.  The hair is the exact same as the other photos, but what a difference.  There must be some level of computer enhancement functioning within the environmental system... or not.
